Keep using the Quay
Funding
We aim to win 'the battle of the fence' and are pursuing legal action to have your public rights of access to the quay recognised in law. To pay for this we have established a fighting fund. If you can make a contribution, however great or small, we will be that much closer to freeing the quay. There are fundraising jars at The Thorn restaurant in Mistley, the Mistley Quay Cafe opposite the Thorn and Lucca Enoteca Italian restaurant in Manningtree. |
Fundraising
A big thank you is due to all who have helped raise funds and joined in our events. More events, happenings, gift items etc are planned over the coming months to help raise funding. If you feel you can help, or have any ideas for events, skills that might come in useful, or would like to make a donation please email freethequay@gmail.com |
Spread the Word
Let as many people as possible know about Free the Quay and how the fence has blocked public access to the Quay. Follow us on Facebook. |
Pressure
Hundreds of letters have already been written to our local councillors, who are supposed to represent and support us when private companies obstruct the rights of the public. Write to your Parish Councillor, MP, Tendring District Council and Essex County Council urging them to act to reverse this act which deprives the residents of Mistley of access to the river. |
