The Appeal in the Supreme Court of TWL Logistics v Essex County and I Tucker (for Free the Quay) to determine whether Mistley Quay should retain its Village Green Status for the enjoyment of the people of Mistley was due to be heard on 1st and 2nd April.
The hearing was supposed to go ahead using a video conferencing facility, which would enable court hearings to proceed while Justices and parties operate remotely from the court room. Unfortunately, as we were about to post the details of how to hear the proceedings, we heard that our Counsel Mr Richard Wald, who represented FTQ in the Appeal Court has been taken ill and the hearing has therefore been adjourned until further notice. People will be able to view the proceedings (eg. barristers and witnesses) by television in real time, even if they are not directly involved with the conferencing session itself. We will keep you posted on the new dates.
