The programme for the musical extravaganza which is due to take place on 13 September at 7.30 pm in St Mary’s & St Michael, New Road, Mistley has been finalised. Here it is:
Hungarian Dances 1 & 6 - Brahms Piano duet Geoffrey Burford and Martin Huggett Concertino - Chaminade Oliver Wood(flute), Arthur Morris (piano) 5th string quartet - Haydn Beatrice Moore (violin), Rebecca Adam (violin), Arthur Morris (viola), Alyce Raybould (cello) Meditation from Thaïs - Massenet Emily Wood (violin), Martin Huggett (piano) 5 pieces in trio - Ibert Kaija Lappi (oboe), David Adams (clarinet), Beth Davis (bassoon) INTERVAL WITH JAZZ PERFORMED BY QUAY NOTES FIVE Short selection from “Dolly Suite” - Fauré Piano duet, Geoffrey Burford and Martin Huggett Peter and the Wolf - Prokofieff The Quay Notes Orchestra conducted by Martin Huggett Narrated by Peter Cartwright The Quay Notes Orchestra consists of young musicians with a strong local presence and has a 7- strong string section, a 4-instrument wood wind, a 4-instrument brass section and timparni and percussion. This is a wonderfully entertaining mixture of different styles with fun elements provided by Martin Huggett and Geoffrey Burford, demonstrating the liveliness of their four hands on the piano, and Peter and the Wolf. In the interval, the Quay Notes Five will be playing Jazz. Tickets for the concert are £10 for adults and £5 for under 12s and include a drink.
