We are proud to have played a part in preserving Mistley Quay for future generations

The days of fence are numbered

Many of you will have heard that TWL’s Application for planning consent for a new spiked 1.5m high metal fence has been rejected. This is good news and could not come at a better time to boost our morale (if any boosting were needed) for the Village Green Inquiry due to start on Monday 24 June in Mistley Village Hall, Shrubland Road, Furze Hill, Mistley.

We have a really well prepared case and we all know how the Quay has been used as a Village Green for centuries. All we now have to do is to prove this to the Inspector. We have 18 excellent witnesses, many with a lifetime of experience of enjoyment of the Quay and a huge amount of other evidence to support our case. There can rarely have been a Village Green Application which has met with such universal and wholehearted support from the community at large.

Thank you for all your support over the last few years. We have had our ups and downs but now we are definitely on a high going into the Inquiry. Do come and see how it is progressing; it is expected to start at 10am every day and end at 5pm but you can come and go as you please.

THE QUAY WILL BE FREE
